Our Approach to Minimizing Rail Pedestrian Accidents:
In the United States there are over 180,000 miles of railroad tracks. Pedestrian railroad accidents are the leading cause of death on railways. According to FRA statistics, 1,122 pedestrian rail casualties (fatalities + injuries) occurred in 2019.
Level or grade crossings constitute a significant safety concern internationally. On the average, each year around 400 people in the European Union and over 300 in the United States are killed in level crossing accidents.
